Always with a Shawl

Always with a Shawl

Nowadays, going out under the sun without applying sunscreen is a no-no. With the ill effects of extreme heat and UV rays, better equip oneself with sunscreen or sunblock and umbrella. But there are those who are not into carrying umbrellas with them all the time, like me, because i loose them all the time. I go out of the house always with a shawl, if not raining. Better protect oneself from extreme heat. It's light and a lot handy compared to umbrella. If not inside my bag, i tie it in the handle of my shoulder bag. Sometimes, i tie my shawl around my waist as an adornment to my get-up, hang it in one of my shoulders, or around my neck if the weather is cold.
I've had my shawl for about three (3) years now, yet its still soft to the touch, and still gives justice to its role for me. I was always with a shawl since i've had it. It was a gift given to me by a friend whom i worked with for a short time. I can't remember when was the last time we saw each other, but as far as i recall, when we bumped into each other in downtown or elsewhere, the warmth and friendship was still there, and i again thanked him for the shawl he gave because it had been very useful to me.

I recall when i was working on graveyard shifts as an Account Management Specialist, then later on teamlead in a BPO Company, i was always with a shawl. Me and my shawl were never apart - around my neck, on my shoulder, or sometimes i use it as a blanket when it gets too cold. Very useful all the time.

When spending quality time with family on weekends, still always with a shawl. I use it as sarong, wrapped around my hips, and when the breeze is perfect, lie on the sand always with a shawl.

One can find a lot of varieties of shawls in this part of the country. Not only are they very cheap, their quality also speaks of true craftsmanship, passed on from one generation to the next - just as using shawl, always with a shawl will be passed on to generations to come.
