Ligwitis and Kalamayhati

Looking for something sweet and crunchy malapatan food ? Try out the ligwitis and kalamayhati - distinctly southern Philippines.

Ligwiti
s is flattened dough, rolled, cut in desired sizes, and deep fried. Once cooked, it is filled with polvoron (fried flour mixed with sugar - others add peanuts for more taste), and rolled in polvoron still. This Malapatan Food is usually served as dessert, and kandulis ...

Another of those Malapatan foods of Maguindanaon origin usually served on special occasions like kanduli here in the place called the last frontier of the Maguindanaon culture, Malapatan, is the dish called pinakamalan. It is beef meat cut in bite sizes (others prefer finely chopped), mixed with cubed potatoes and carrots, garnished with chopped onions and green chili / pepper, and topped with palapa (coconut meat fry-dried, another Maguindanaon dish). As with most of Maguindanaon malapatan foods I have tasted so far, its spicy hot, chunky to the bite,

For the ilocanos, the kanduli rice is the Valenciana minus all other ingredients. In my years of staying in my hometown, it was only during the Kanduli  (feast) held on the opening of the Pakaradyan Festival 2013 ...

Always with a Shawl

Always with a Shawl

Nowadays, going out under the sun without applying sunscreen is a no-no. With the ill effects of extreme heat and UV rays, better equip oneself with sunscreen or sunblock and umbrella. But there are those who are not into carrying umbrellas with them all the time, like me, because i loose them all the time. I go out of the house always with a shawl, if not raining. Better protect oneself from extreme heat. It's light and a lot handy compared to umbrella. If not inside my bag, i tie it in the handle of my shoulder bag. Sometimes, i tie my shawl around my waist as an adornment to my get-up, hang it in one of my shoulders, or around my neck if the weather is cold.

DID YOU KNOW? Malapatan Facts & Figures Series 001

DID YOU KNOW? Malapatan, Sarangani
facts & figures

Great to have data available at the click of a button - colorful animated visuals makes research, writing, and online reading a lot more fun. Guess what i just explored, prezi.com. been awhile actually i had known the link but never really had the time to sit down on work on something optimizing prezi. Slideshare is fun, too, but prezi offers a lot more with its array of templates, 3D at that. I really find it very useful for presentations.

So here goes my first prezi for my blog... DID YOU KNOW ? Malapatan Facts & Figures Series 001. It took me awhile to get to navigate its features. In
